Free all-hands meeting template for a company update

An eight-slide outline for a monthly company meeting: the month in four figures, wins worth knowing about, one honest lesson, what is coming, a welcome for new people, and questions. Drawn in Fjord: cool grey-blue, calm and orderly.

Free to read and copy into any slide tool. The designed deck is not a download yet.

What this deck is for

Use it for a monthly or quarterly meeting with everyone in the company, whether that is a room of eight or a call with two hundred. People want to know how the business is doing, what their colleagues did, and what is coming next.

Keep it short and leave time for questions. An all-hands that runs long becomes a meeting people skip.

  7. Slide 7, welcome: a team slide reading Welcome to the team

New people, their roles and their teams.

  8. Slide 8, questions: a closing slide reading [Ask anything]

    08Questions

An open floor, and where to send questions afterwards.

How to present it

  • Ask teams for their win a few days before, in their own words.
  • Share one thing that went wrong. It makes the good news believable.
  • Collect questions in advance as well as live, so quiet people get answers too.

Questions

How often should we hold an all-hands?

Monthly suits most small companies. Quarterly can work once you also send a short written update in between.

Which figures should we share?

The ones people can affect and understand. Leave out anything you would not want repeated outside the company.

Who should present?

The owner opens and closes. Let each team present its own win.

Use it in Supernatural

Supernatural: everything your business runs on, with Blue as your part-time admin. Present is one of its apps. In your workspace, you ask Blue for “slides for this month's all-hands”. Blue starts from this outline, writes in what you give it, and leaves [brackets] where something is missing. Figures you have not given stay as [add the figure], so no number reaches an audience unchecked. Nothing is made until you say yes.
