What this template is for
A one-pager is what you leave behind after a meeting or attach to a first email. Partners, lenders, investors, buyers at a larger company and local press all ask for one. They want to know in a minute what you do and what you want from them.
It also works inside a company: a one-page summary of a new service line, a project or a plan for the owners to read before a meeting.

- Label and headlineYour company's name in small capitals, then one line on what it does and for whom.
- SummaryTwo sentences a busy reader will remember.
- Three columnsThe problem, what we do, and why us, side by side.
- ProofThree figures, each with what it counts. Use only numbers from your own records.
- The askWhat you want the reader to do next, and by when.
- Contact lineName, email and website.
How to fill it in
- Write the headline as "what, for whom", such as "Same-day repairs for restaurant kitchens".
- Fill each column in one or two lines. If a column needs more, the idea is not clear yet.
- Choose proof the reader cares about: customers served, years running, jobs done. Leave a figure out rather than guess.
- Make the ask specific: a meeting, a trial, an introduction.
- Save it as a PDF to attach. It keeps the layout on any screen.
Questions
What is the difference between a one-pager and a brochure?
A brochure sells to many readers. A one-pager is usually for one reader you have already met, so it ends with a direct ask.
What if I have no figures yet?
Use the proof row for facts you can stand behind, such as the year you started or the places you serve. Delete the row if you have nothing yet.
Can a one-pager run to two pages?
Then it is not a one-pager. Move the detail into a proposal or a report and keep this page short.
Use it in Supernatural
Supernatural: everything your business runs on, with Blue as your part-time admin. Word is one of its apps. In your workspace, you ask Blue for “a one-pager about my company”. Blue starts from this template, writes in what you give it, and leaves [brackets] where something is missing. Before it makes the document, Blue shows you which template it chose and what it will write. Nothing is made until you say yes.
The beta is free and asks for no card.
